Disengage, but don't Disengage

I'm so confused.

I read an article today that complains, " Gaza Disengagement Will Not Ease Suffering for Palestinian Women and Families"

"In effect, writes MADRE, 'Israel is trying to ‘disengage’ from its obligations to the population under its military occupation—to control Palestinian land with no accountability to the Palestinian people.' ”

Are you kidding me? Isn't this the point?

Look, I'm against the disengagement. Way against it. But it's like the kid who wants some independance. He wants his own home, but wants his parents to pay all the bills.

Hello. That's not independance, knucklehead. Maybe they should all move back in with thier mom.

Do these people even listen to what they are saying?
