You want to be a Maccabee?

Well, it's too late. Maybe you'd like to go back in time to the Purim miracle in Persia, to support Mordechai. Can't be done.

But if you'd like to be part of a similiar miracle now....

Well that's another story.

There's lots of people who want to debate whether or not we should be pulling out. But let me give you some historical perspective. At every crossroads in our history, there have been Jews who argued for our enemy's position.

Remember Chanuka? That started because there were Jews who invited in the Greeks, then sided with them in the war.

When the Romans destroyed the 2nd Temple? Well, that was also caused by a Jew.

Our problem has always been a lack of unity.

The Arabs are not perfect on that score, but they are unified in thier desire to destroy Israel. Just listen to them.

Now, it is too late to do anything about the Greeks or the Romans. But you can be part of a miracle today. Stand tall with Gush Katif. Go to and give money. Go to Israel and visit Gush Katif.

We have always had strong leaders. Moses, The Rambam, The Baal Shem Tov. Even The Lubavitcher Rebbe.

Now we have no one. No one but you. But you can be part of this miracle. You can save Israel now. I know this sounds a little heavy handed. Like I'm going overboard. But I'm not. It is up to you and me, the nobodies of our generation to save Israel.

Well, get moving. Be a modern Maccabee
