Police oust Jewish radicals from Gaza hotel

Israeli paramilitary police yesterday stormed a beachside hotel in the Gaza Strip to oust scores of rightwing Jewish radicals who had turned it into a headquarters for obstructing the government's planned withdrawal from the territory.

The police operation came hours after the army closed Gaza to all Israelis except the 7,000 or so residents of 21 Jewish settlements scheduled for evacuation in August.
